the product, inhalation may result in long-term health effects.<\/p>

5. Fire Fighting Measures
Suitable softening water, carbon dioxide, powder extinguishers, foam extinguishers
Hazards from Combustion Products In case of combustion, the same gases are produced as in
burning rubber. The following may be produced in case of<\/p>

fire: Carbon monoxide; Carbon dioxide; Sulphur oxides; Nitrogen
gases (NOx); Irritating\/caustic, combustible as well as toxic

Methods and materials for
Containment and cleaning Approved vacuum cleaners with high-efficiency particulate air (HEPA) filters
Conforming to AS3544 or equivalent should be used for cleaning areas.
Additionally in case of improper use (see section 8) fine dust may be generated. Sufficient
Exhaust air suction and filtration should be ensured.
7. Handling and storage
Care should be taken in handling as the material may contain protruding wire which may cause
Tearing. No special precautions are necessary when handling the material in its final
shape as the synthetic mineral fibres are encased in the rubber matrix. However,
As further processing of the sheets\/gaskets is carried out, the potential for
fibre release exists.
Storage Store in a cool, dry place. Avoid sunlight and contact with oils and chemicals as this will shorten the shelf life. Under acceptable conditions, no deterioration can be expected for three or four years after which the product loses elasticity but does not release its fibres.
